The team of Dr. Mohinder Singh and Sondeep Shankar, once again provide us a glimpse of some Sikh monuments and relics that are of great historical importance, yet very unknown in the Sikh Diaspora. The book also covers the origin and development of the institution of Gurdwaras and their management, and gives account of some of the major and lesser known Gurdwaras in India and Pakistan.
Beautiful photography with accompanying text raises strong emotions in the reader and he or she would immediately want to physically visit each one of these sites. The text also provides an overview of how rich and unique, yet young our heritage is and what we must do immediately to protect it.
For many of us growing up in the Diaspora, this book is a treasure and a hope that someday we will be able to visit all of these places and view some personal items of our great Gurus.
